What's new? Most of the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act came into force in April 2008. This aims to make it easier to convict companies of manslaughter for work-related deaths and injuries. The Control of Noise at Work Regulations are now extended to cover the music and entertainment sector. See noise . A recent case (Stevenson v J M Skinner & Co) found that whilst employers must undertake a risk assessment once they are informed that an employee is pregnant, and must record this, they do not have to hand over a copy of the assessment to the employee provided that information about the risks is provided orally to that employee.
